ARCHITECTURAL ANODIZING:
2-STEP ELECTROLYTIC
2-step electrolytic anodizing gives architectural aluminum rich, lasting color in bronze, black, and champagne tones, with far better fade resistance than dyed finishes. It’s the finish architects specify when a building needs to look as good decades from now as it does on opening day. NIA produces AAMA 611-compliant electrolytic finishes on parts up to 27.5 feet long.
WHAT MAKES ARCHITECTURAL ANODIZING DIFFERENT
2-step electrolytic anodizing produces color through a two-stage process — first anodizing, then electrodepositing metallic pigments into the anodic layer. The result is a finish with deeper, more stable color than dye-based methods, and significantly better UV and fade resistance for exterior applications.
LONG-LENGTH CAPACITY — UP TO 27.5 FEET
Our primary anodizing line accommodates parts up to 27.5 feet — extrusions, curtain wall components, storefront frames, and panels anodized in a single run for consistent color from end to end. No splitting runs. No inconsistency at the seam.

SUSTAINABILITY & LEED
Architectural anodizing with NIA can support projects pursuing LEED credits. Anodizing contains no VOCs, no heavy metals, and produces a finish that can last the full lifecycle of a building with proper maintenance.
